all pictures below have already been resized, hopefully avoiding debilitating load delays which have plagued previous entries.

Found this tiny lizard swimming in the center of the pool. Actually I was reluctantly contemplating getting in (as I usually do for about twenty minutes before getting in) when I saw him. My lifeguard instincts kicked in and before I knew it I was in the middle of the pool. The paternal unit took the picture, and actually beat me to naming the lizard by telling "Rodriguez" to pose.

Rodriguez takes a smoke after his harrowing pool experience

From the archives: photo of (unnamed!) newt crawling up my arm after a similar rescue last summer.

Although I had initially proposed to name the catapillar "Frederic," as mentioned in this lj, maternal unit named it Shrek herself and thats a much more amusing name.
Mother found Shrek on the tomato plants and relocated it to its own little guatanamo bay. Later on Shrek appeared to be almost dead (I think the leaves provided him in gitmo weren't tomato plant), and later his condition was changed to missing, presumed disposed-of. Mother then found ANOTHER catapillar on the tomato plant and took custody of it. Discussion of all accounts at dinner that evening however revealed that dad had released Shrek back to his homeland!
Fatherly figured helped spring Shrek from prison one more time and he remained on the plant thereafter, as photographed.
Mother's report on some of these same events

End of An Empire - The final fate of Nakamichi America Inc
Around a year and a half ago my dad became the last hiree and one of six employees of Nakimichi America Inc, once a major electronics corporation. He would go on to soon become the only remaining employee of this former giant. It was a bit like finding employment on a sinking ship. The following photographs document the final resting place of most of what now remains of the corporation:

Note "windows starts here" in the trashcan. If you're overcome by curiousity as to what is on those CDs and disks, here's a close-up.

Mother just informed me that dad actually took the MCAT and got a 95%, but didn't apply to med school. He also got within a year of getting a doctorate in bio-chemistry but then switched to business administation and got his second masters in that. Silly father.

Quote of the (other) Day
This should have been in the last entry, but I forgot. I was deliriously hungry when I wrote that entry - "...thats why we were all blacklisted, but thats not why we don't hang out here anymore, we don't hang out here anymore because we all hate eachother" -Cool Kyle, on Diedrichs.

We have a baby mouse in my uncle's house. They've caught 7 and there's one tiny tiny baby one left and I'm going to try and snag it in one of those human traps and possibly keep it. He's so small... so adorable.

We found a baby kangaroo rat once at our cabin (which almost burned down like two weeks ago.. I meant to write about that but.. it was towards the end of 30 in 30 or something and I was all booked up.. oh thats terrible when one's so busy ljing that their cabin burning down doesn't make the cut). We wouldn't have taken possession of it except that it was clearly too young to make it on its own and without its parents (it was still kinda pink I think). So we kept it and named it Ziggy (personally I hate that comic but what ev it was my moms idea) and I think it lived for three years. It was pretty kickass. Kangaroo rats are cute.

references to the cabin burning down can be found on my moms lj (furzicle) somewhere a week or two back.

heh I am ni fact just about to put the one of the newt up because I think its pretty excellent the way its walkin.

the catapillar ones.. well it may be cute but I don't think I could argue they have much artistic skill and I try to avoid flooding DA with inartistic pictures.. I might load them as scraps just so you can favourite them though =D

although the one where he's hanging upside down makes me happy because it looks like he's being silly. (=

I think first you need to take my Have You Been Paying Attention? poll first. Even if you don't know the answers, its often funniest when people guess. (=

Yes, 25 cents to breed with emo kids. A brilliant idea!
