Last Week I stayed in San Diego until Wednesday morning. This allowed me to go to Taco Tuesday at Fred's not once, but twice.
During the day I met my friend Liz from high school and her roommate Mallory for drinks. I didn't realize they had Fred's in mind until we got there, but hey I'm not going to say no to the $2 margaritas.
Later that evening Kristy & I had already planned on going to Taco Tuesday at Fred's, and so we went. This time in addition to the margaritas we had delicious $2 calamari tacos. Then Kristytoes and I went to The Aerobar, which is this quaint little bar near the airport. It was strongsauce.

This Weekend Kristy & I went to the San Diego zoo to see the hoglets -- three week old little African Red River Hogs. They were definitely cuties. We also found the Turkmenistani Caracals quite wakeful, and had to put up with certain other onlookers repeatedly remarking on how "cat-like" there were -- I wanted to throttle them while yelling "they ARE cats you nimrod!!" And the Ratels were cuties as usual but every 2 minutes a new onlooker would show up and say "oh look a skunk!" Kristy & I think there should be a "no dumb people" day at the zoo or something.

It turns out there are several of this Fred's place around, so I decided I needed to check out the one near me in Laguna Niguel. So I was able to roust up Eric Talevich (AKA [livejournal.com profile] citizene) and Alex Hughes for the adventure.
While waiting for a table I ran into my old friend Veronica Borrowdale (whom I met at the UCI MUN conference 2001). Since her friends already had a table and a half in the back corner she welcomed us to join them and we thus bypassed the huge wait. Inside I ran into my friend Lily, whom I went to both HS and Davis with.
After we had our fill of delicious tacos and margaritas (and chips!), Eric, Alex, & I went to a nearby bar where Alex had a friend working. Eric & I beat Alex at a game of pool but then she won the second one.

Rocketing hoglets at the San Diego Zoo!!
You're gonna have to deal with this huge picture, because they're too cute to reduce!

Breaking News: Stacey (my little brother's girlfriend) just brought home three wee baby bunnies, whose home had been destroyed by the gardners at her work. Their eyes aren't even open yet.

First day of the quarter today here at Davis.

Last week Kristy came up to OC to visit, and we went with Nidia & Marybelle to the Goat Hill Tavern, a place the guys at work talk about a lot. Unfortunately for various reasons the guys from work couldn't make it -- Bob was entertaining people at his place, Ryan had fallen off a ladder that morning and sprained his ankle, and Jeremy was responding to my textmesseges completely nonsensically .. I'm assuming he was already plastered somewhere or something. But Kristy finally got to meet Nidia & Marybelle so that was fun.

Then Kristy & I went down to San Diego. Saturday was her 22nd birthday, so along with her roommates Sashie & Lyrakeet, & Lyrakeet's sister Forest & Forest's boyfriend Warren we all went to Joe's Crab Shack because Kristy is all about the crab. And Sloshie made this thing called a trifle that was hellorz good.
That evening we went to an indie club, but it wasn't anything at all like Rock It here in Davis . )=

Sunday we went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, and it was the awesome.

On Monday Kristy had her first day of work as an Assistant II in the office of the Dean of Engineering at UC San Diego. During the day I went to lunch with my friend from high school, Liz Gonzalez. Later on Chris Bunch arrived to visit everyone.
Tuesday morning Sloshkins drove me to the San Diego train station, from where I took the train to the Irvine station. My parents had dropped my car off there the night before so I drove it from there down to Mission Viejo to finish packing. Then up to UCI to get a copy of my UCI transcript (their registrar's office is so much more efficient than ours. Here it takes six days to get a transcript unless you pay rush fees, there they just print it out right then and there and toss in an unofficial copy for free, and the line isn't even as long). And then the long drive up to Davis.
Interesting notes including passing a truck full of green and white police cars that said "Miami Metro" on them in Los Angeles (I'm assuming they were for a movie set), and watching seven firetrucks go by as I got gas at the beginning of the hills north of Los Angeles and then noticing a lot of smoke rising over one of the ridges accompanied by an orange glow as the sky got darker.
I stopped in Fresno to get food and stretch my feet, and was able to meet up with my friend Aimee Anderson and hang out with her for half an hour or so while I ate and got some coffee.

Wednesday I was in Davis trying to get thte disaster I put my room in while packing up back in order. Ate with Chris Joy-Webb at Pita Pit. Almost went to the Grad since my friend Simone Davis had proposed doing that for her birthday, but the line snaked out for like a furlong and was filled with drunk little freshlings.

And that catches this up. Hopefully I'll stay more caught up now that I'm done working 70 hours a week d=

Executive Summary
This weekend I travelled down to Los Angeles to attend the UCLA Model UN Conference. There I represented the Minister of Justice for the People's Republic of China (PRC)-- making it my personal mission to ensure that as conference staff served up imaginary political developments Chinese policy didn't include the misconception that their people had any civil rights.
As the conference progressed Thursday evening and all day Friday, I became increasingly alarmed at the shoddy quality of the conference. On Saturday morning I defected to the CalMUN Long Beach Conference that was to occur that day in Long Beach, some twenty miles south. There I was the Chairman of the UN Commission on Human Rights.
After that concluded, I had dinner with my parents, and then returned to the UCLA conference. On Sunday we returned to Davis.

UCBMUNC 2003 - I miss the first day because I have to work at IHOP. The next morning I was going to catch an 8am bus but I woke up flat on my back on my floor at 10am, so I couldn't catch a bus until a few hours later. ...also this girl Kristy Heidenberger from my CRD class informs me she's decided we're going to be friends (see last line of entry). I think thats the first reference to her in this livejournal.
Two Years Ago Tomorrow: UCBMUNC 2004 - Origami landmines, what more can I say.
Year Ago Today: UCBMUNC 2005 - "Djibouti considers Djibouti to encompass the airspace above it as well, and Djibouti does not appreciate things being inserted into Djibouti..."
